  • Wicklow Local Sports Partnership has a number of places available on the  Club Children’s Officer Workshop in Glenealy Community Hall on Wednesday 13th May from 6.30pm to 9.30pm


     


    Applicants must have the Code of Ethics Basis Awareness in Child Protection course completed within the last three years.


    The cost per participant is €20, the booking form for the course is attached.   Places will be offered on a first come first served basis.   • This course is designed to give teachers, coaches, volunteers, development officers ideas and inspiration on how to adapt their sports or recreation sessions to make them more accessible for those with a disability. It is a theory and practical course that covers terminology, barriers to participation, and an introduction to disability sports and ways of adapting activities to make them more inclusive.


    This is an introduction level course designed to give participants ideas and inspiration to adapt their Sport, Physical Activity and Physical Education sessions to make them more accessible and inclusive for children and adults with disabilities. This course has been designed for a range of audiences including National Sports Organisations, Coaches, Sports Development Officers, Volunteers, Lecturers, Students, Principals, Teachers, SNAs, Administrative staff, Leisure Personnel, Parents or anyone who has an interest in making sport accessible for all!On completion of the course all participants will receive a Coaching Ireland / Cara National APA Centre Certificate and a range of useful course material.


    The details are as follows; Saturday 16th Glenealy Community Centre, Glenealy, Co. Wicklow from 10am - 4pm.

The Vision of Wicklow Local Sports Partnership is to “Increase participation in sport and physical activity in County Wicklow through the co-ordination and delivery of quality programmes, training and services”. The Mission of Wicklow Local Sports Partnership is to “Provide sporting and physical activity opportunities through partnership”.
